The collection consists of four published books, an unpublished collection of poetry, and an unpublished journal of Paulk's trip in 1987 to lecture at Yunnan University in Kunming, China. The appendix of the journal concerns the visit in 1989 of a Yunnan professor, Zhang Xin-he, to Western Carolina University. Also included are photographs and a letter from Paulk to a friend named Paul. The photographs appear to be of family, but most are unidentified.
